Nunyara Aesthetics is a doctor and nurse led clinic that believes treatments offered to clients should be based on evidence and real science, rather than clever marketing.
We also believe that these treatments are not only ethical but delivered by highly trained professionals with a focus on you, our clients,
An understanding of the skin and its anatomy and physiology is crucial when considering different treatment options and what we are
aiming to achieve for our clients. Each intervention offered by Nunyara aims to work at one or more levels of the skin through to the
subcutaneous tissue, ‘SMAS’ layer, superficial and deep fats pad and even individual muscles contributing to our facial appearance. All of our interventions are based on a detailed understanding of anatomy, physiology and how different interventions and technologies work.
Clients often present complaining of wrinkles and 'looking old'.
While wrinkles and other signs of ageing should be celebrated as a testament to our life experience, wisdom and longevity, our perceived appearance can have profound effects on our confidence, self perception and self esteem. This in turn can adversely affect our relationships, career, hobbies and overall quality of life.
For this reason, concerns about wrinkles are valid and almost universal, though many are afraid or too embarrassed to seek help.
While the manifestations of sun damage and aging are most visible in the skin, there are profound structural changes occurring as we age in the deeper layers, including tissue atrophy, ligamentous laxity and even bony resorption, which are more challenging to manage.
To empower clients, we believe that having knowledge and understanding about both enhancing their natural features and winding back the clock as they age, is crucial. Providing education and information is paramount at Nunyara Aesthetics - we want our clients to make informed choices. Our clinicians will always take the time to explain the rationale why some treatments will be of benefit, while others will not and will only peform treatments that they believe there is good evidence of benefit for an individual client.
It may come as a surprise to know that not all ‘wrinkles’ are the same. Rhytids are fine lines and minor creases that appear in the skin initially that are superficial. Wrinkles develop later and appear as deeper folds in the skin, often in association with other signs of aging, such as tissue ptosis, volume loss, dyschromia and dermal thinning.
It is helpful to consider wrinkles can be both static and dynamic. Static wrinkles are a consequence primarily of age and gravity, with a loss of skin elasticity and changes in the supporting structures. Wrinkles can also develop from repetitive facial movements are are typically more apparent on motion. Some examples are forehead and glabella lines, worry lines, accordion lines, nasal bridge creases and crow’s feet. Besides the effects of age and gravity, there is also the dramatic changes seen as consequence of sun damage. The changes we see are a results of both internal changes and external damage, mainly from the sun!
Effective management of these changes requires a careful assessment of underlying pathophysiology and anatomical changes and what interventions can best address the clients' concerns.
